user manual
Getting involved in MBP is actually a very simple process once you get right down to it. Here it is in six easy steps.
Step 1:
Read the rules. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your friendly mbp administration.
Step 2:
Figure out who you want to be. Here's a list of all possible choices. In order to maintain a certain level of decency, we do not allow dead or fictional characters, religious figures, criminals, body parts, animals, cartoon characters, politicians and the like into the game.
To check to see if a role is taken, go here.
If the person is on the list, check their full user information and look if they are past 6 weeks or deleted. If so, congratulations, go to step 3
If the journal is active (last updated less than 6 weeks ago), you have to find somebody else to play. You may want to go to our community of suggestions for who to play, located here.
Step 3:
Create a LiveJournal for your celebrity at www.livejournal.com, write one update and then register by leaving a comment to enter_mbp.
All celebrities within the MBP universe must have "appropriate disclaimers" as defined by LJ Abuse. To learn more about disclaimers go here.
Once you have all your disclaimers in place, go here and
- tick both: Search inclusion and comment search inclusion to minimize your journals inclusion in search engines for both: entries and comments.
- log IP addresses from nobody. Nobody wants to comment to journals that log IP addresses.
It's generally a good idea to log entries for friends only.
Otherwise you can set up the journal however you want.
Step 4:
Add people to your friends list and start commenting to them. If you want a list of people to choose from when building your friends list, go here... it's generally a good idea to add bandmates, castmates and other people your celebrity hangs out with in real life. Comment to them and start interacting.
Step 5:
Interaction happens on livejournal.com and AOL instant messanger. You may want to get an AIM name because a lot of people roleplay there. To get one of those, go here. You'll want a seperate AIM name for your character rather than the one you use for yourself.
Step 6:
To get more involved, you may want to check out our page of player resources
or join some communities that you see around. Unfortunately, communities get created and fall inactive too quickly for us to keep up with them. In this game anyone can create a sub-community, that means the administration has no power over them.
