New York
By "Willa Ford"

New York... What else is there to say? When they call it 'The City That Never Sleeps' they aren't lying. It's a great place to be. Many people think that all it is, is trouble, and that's not true at all. If you just mind your business and know what you're doing, you'll be alright. It's actually quite a lot of fun, there's so much to do, and you can't stay that you're bored because you can do almost anything.

New York is known for it's great club atmosphere. Celebrities such as *NSYNC, Britney Spears, and the Backstreet Boys are known for hitting the dance for, and whatever else. At Club New York, which is located in Times Square. I would call it the place to be, everyone tries to get in there, it's really hard unless you know people like that. Other well-known clubs consist of Club Exit (which is also a strip joint), Chicago's (which they call 'Go's' due to the fact that the lights are broken that read 'Chicago's', and it's also a gay club, a favorite of Justin and Britney.), Club Speed (which is a club for younger teens, but celebrities love to go and surprise.), China Club, Coyote Ugly, System, and Sound Factory are just a couple of others. So don't say that there's nothing to do because there definitely is.

Central Park, I'm sure you all heard about how dangerous it is at night. It isn't. Just if you watch yourself, I wouldn't walk alone, but there's police everywhere now, so it's pretty safe. It's beautiful. You can tour the park in a horse-drawn carriage, by bicycle or afoot. You can even ride a horse or rent a rowboat. You can eat at several fine restaurants (Tavern on the green) or at hundreds of inexpensive food carts serving those famous New York hot dogs. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the many pathways and watch the New Yorkers relax and play. Visit the "Strawberry Fields" memorial to John Lennon. Surrounding central park are the most expensive apartments there is, this is where most of the hotels are as well. The Trump International Hotel in Columbus Circle is where most of the celebrities stay at when they come to New York. You name the celebrity; they are most likely there. ( I didn't tell you that okay! ) Other hotels consists of The Four Seasons, The Righa Royal, The Plaza Hotel (you know the one in the 'Home Alone' movie), The W and many others.

Times Square, when I go there with my friends, I tend to loose track of time due to the fact that you never realize it's dark out because there's so many lights, and there's always people walking around. MTV Studios is right smack in the middle, and it's definitely a tourists favorite place to go. The Virgin Megastore which is right across the street, is where you can go to buy your music and such, there is also a built in movie theater inside. Planet Hollywood, is next door. *NSYNC stops by there every time they come to New York because I think they own part of it, so I guess they go to check up and see how it's going, it's a great place to catch something to eat. Barcode, which is an arcade, is a good place to go if you want to play some games, there's also a 24 hour Mc Donalds, a favorite of mine because it's just always there for you when you're hungry. Radio City Music Hall, which is a couple of block away from Times Square, a lot of events happen there such as the Video Music Awards, and operas. Rockefeller Center, which consists of 19 commercial buildings covering 11 acres in midtown Manhattan from 49th to 52nd Streets, Fifth to Seventh Avenues. It's the home of NBC (where Saturday Night Live, Late Night With Conan O'Brien and NBC News are taped.) There is also an ice skating rink, The Rink is open from October to April. It can accommodate only 150 skaters at one time. The Rockefeller Center Tree, at 50th Street and 5th Avenue, is a spectacular mountain of branches covered with around 5 miles of lights. The Tree is picked out every year by helicopter search, then cut down and brought to its new home at Rockerfeller Center in early November. Madison Square Garden, the worlds most famous arena, has a long history in New York City. The home of the Knicks and the Rangers, the Garden also produces major theatrical events and handles corporate business events. Event venues at Madison Square Garden include The Theater, Expo Center, Restaurant or the Arena, which can accommodate as many as 20,000 people. Of the 89 private boxes, one is available on an event-by-event basis. Annual events at Madison Square Garden include the Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus, Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and the International Cat Show. And as you know, concerts.
